The STEM Education Coalition today issued a 2014 update to its Core Policy Principles, the document the Coalition uses to guide its public policy agenda.

The Coalition urged U.S. Senators this week to sign a letter supporting funding for the Math and Science Partnership program at the Department of Education.

The STEM Education Coalition is proud to announce its support of U.S. News STEM Solutions 2014—The National Leadership Conference, taking place in Washington, D.C. from April 23-25. For the third year, leaders in education, policy and workforce development will convene to advance the national STEM agenda.

The STEM Education Coalition issued the following statement on the FIRST Act, a bill introduced by the House Science, Space, and Technology Majority.  The bill would reauthorize major portions of the America COMPETES Act.

Earlier this week, Rep. Rush Holt (D-NJ) announced that we will not be seeking re-election to his seat in the U. S. House this fall.

The STEM Education Coalition recently interviewed Rep. Richard Hanna (R-NY), who serves as the Co-Chair of the House STEM Education Caucus, a bipartisan group of more than 100 lawmakers that work together to insure House members are well-educated on STEM education issues.

This week, Congress passed a $1.1 Trillion Omnibus spending bill that will fund the federal government through the end of Fiscal Year 2014 and will addresses a number of key policy questions important to STEM education advocates.

Our Coalition was proud to work with the Afterschool Alliance to rally more than 70 national, state, and local organizations in support of a broad-based agenda to advance Afterschool STEM education as a mean to improve student learning in these critical subjects.
